In the present global economy, both opportunity and the competition are growing at a breakneck speed. The customers have wide rage of choices. Every industry is facing a challenge either due to unused higher capacity or over booked orders which they are not in a position to service.
On the other side the attrition rates are also high. As a trained employee leaves the organization, apart from taking the customers or the other contacts, he also leaves with the tacit knowledge of his domain. Till such time a new person is trained and put in place, it causes enough damage to the organization.
So the challenges are, first to consolidate the organizaton’s present position, in terms of bringing in a process application to get if not all, as much as the knowledge of the organization, which is nothing but the REAL TIME DATA to a single point so as to relieve the organization from the risk of attrition. So to say, adoption of an Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP) is not a one-shot solution like taking a tablet for curing the fever. It is organization-wide approach cutting across all levels.
